Obviously, it is not possible to resist adopting more and more interesting perennials while wondering through nurseries each spring. In fact, the constant discovery of new plant materials and the impossibility of exhaustive acquisition of them all are probably the biggest elements that make gardening a life long hobby for many. Here are some more examples of our favourite perrenials.
We like anemone. Unfortunately, many of them are kind of inavasive and can be difficult to control.
I did not keep track of our astilbes well. I should give them more serious considerations.
Brunnera deserves a prominent place in a garden; their refined silvery big leaves and thier dainty blue flowers will stand out anyway.
Clematis is another one of those groups of plants that a gardener easily gets addicted with collecting. The beauty of clematis in the garden is a class of its own. So far, we only have a few, and even fewer pictures.
We used to glow a lot of delphinium from seeds many years ago. Now, we are starting to introduce some into our garden again, but mainly on the blue colour form for now. However, our effort is so minimal that the results are very poor for now.
Dicentra is another favourite plant of ours; graceful and elegant ferny leaves and dainty flowers. I would like to use them as fillers in most parts of our garden where I can. Again, recent research has changed some of their identifications (e.g. Dicentra spectabilis has been re-classified as Lamprocapnos spectabilis).
One of our favourite groundcovers.
This should be one of the most useful groundcovers in the shade. Unfortunately, they are so expensive to collect.
We have not been paying much attention to lilium. This will change. They deserve a more prominent place in a northern garden. I am still trying to decide what is the best way to use them.
Every garden should have room for some of these beautiful blue bells.
These are the late summer beauties that grace the garden with their wonderful fragrant.
Their succulent leaves and the varieties of leaf colours available make them excellent texture and colour materials for garden composition. The flowers that appear in autumn are added beauties.

Only two thing are infinite; the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure of the former.
