We used to be only interested in 'maintenance free' perennials when we first started gardening, and were more interested in maples, conifers and rhodos etc. Over the years, we learned that there is no 'maintenance free' plants (perhaps with the exception of certain large conifers). We also found ourselves enjoying perennials more and more. In fact, what we really enjoy most is life in a garden environment, and in that context, a garden should ideally has the full compliments of perennials, conifers, maples, broadleaf evergreen and flowering shrubs and trees.
The main purpose of this page is an attempt to help myself review the results of my use of certain groups of perennials in our garden, since I seem to be always busy planting in all directions, and too often, lose the perspective of where my garden is heading. It is also possible that my ranting here can accidentally provide some planting info that may be of interest to fellow gardeners.
Only two thing are infinite; the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure of the former.
